Turkish language at Maarif Schools

Turkish lessons in Maarif Schools are designed for two groups – Turkish as first language (mother tongue) and Turkish as second language (foreign language).For those students with Turkish as a mother tongue, the N. Macedonia National Turkish Curriculum is implemented. Turkish lessons are introduced in kindergarten and taught up to 13th grade. Many extracurricular activities are carried out with students who study Turkish as a mother tongue. Ceremonies and celebrations are held with the participation of students and parents for all religious and national holidays celebrated in Türkiye.

Turkish as a second language (foreign language) is taught in accordance with the curriculum of the Turkish Maarif Foundation. The aim of teaching Turkish as a second language (foreign language) is to enable students to achieve a B2 level by their graduation. Turkish lessons are taught to all grades, from kindergarten to 13th grade. Students in this group participate in activities carried out in accordance with different themes, such as grocery shopping, cooking events, coffee traditions, etc.
